Know Your Idol – One of Princess Diana‘s most iconic outfits is being auctioned at Julien’s Auctions. The outfit is expected to fetch between US$80,000 and US$100,000 when sold. The blouse has pink silk material. The wavy collar looks unique and beautiful. At the bottom of the collar there is a pink ribbon which also adds to the beauty of the blouse. This blouse, created by designers David and Elizabeth Emanuel, was worn by Lady Diana one month before her marriage to King Charles.

Interestingly, this blouse was originally a beautiful dress. However, suddenly a client spilled mascara on the bottom of the dress. So David and Elizabeth Emanuel chose to make the dress into a blouse.

“A client ordered a pale pink dress, and when she took it off, she had mascara all over it, all over the edges,” said Elizabeth, quoted by Business Insider, Tuesday (28/11/2023).

Of course the blouse is a very special piece of clothing. This blouse was displayed at Kensington Palace as part of the fashion exhibition “Diana: Her Fashion Story”, between 2017 and 2019. Now, the top will be auctioned by Julien’s Auction as part of the TCM Hollywood Legends auction on December 17. The auction event for Lady Diana‘s blouse coincides with pieces from Audrey Hepburn, Greta Garbo and other style icons.

Even though it hasn’t been opened yet, Diana’s blouse received an offer for 80 thousand US dollars. However, Julien’s Auctions estimates that the blouse could sell for as much as 100 thousand US dollars. In fact, the actual selling price is estimated to be even higher.
