Christopher Nolan and His Wife Will Receive Royal Titles From the British Empire
Know Your Idol – Christopher Nolan and his wife, producer Emma Thomas, will receive knighthood and damehood respectively for their services to filmmaking. According to Variety, this title was personally approved by King Charles III of England. This title is the highest title that can be given by the British monarchy, where the title ‘Sir’ will be embedded in front of Christopher Nolan’s name.
Traditionally, the awards are usually presented in person by senior members of the Royal Family during the coronation ceremony. This title is not the first he has received. Nolan was previously awarded Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) FOR4D 2019 for his services to film. This title also became a series of awards he received in succession after he won the best director Oscar for the first time through the film “Oppenheimer.”
Meanwhile, his wife also produced the film. In this event, Oppenheimer managed to bag seven awards. One of them is the prestigious award, namely the Best Picture category. As is known, Nolan and his wife have collaborated to produce many quality films that have received a lot of praise, such as Interstellar, Inception, and the Batman film trilogy. On the other hand, Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos will also be awarded Commander of the Order of the British Empire FOR4D (CBE) for his services to the creative industry. Sarandos joined Netflix in 2000 and has since been in charge of content operations, greenlighting shows including the Emmy award-winning series.
