Godzilla and Kong Must Work Together in New Trailer for The New Empire

Know Your Idol – Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire released the latest trailer ahead of its broadcast on March 29. The trailer opens when Dr. Ilene Andrews (Rebecca Hall) tells how the world lived peacefully side by side.

“The Titans are the guardians of nature, while the Great Apes are the protectors of humanity,” explained Ilene. However, the harmonious life of the world seems to be disrupted again. Jia (Kaylee Hottle), Ilene’s deaf adopted daughter, feels that there is danger.

“Kong, Godzilla, they feel it too. Something is coming,” said Ilene.

Ilene, Bernie Hayes (Brian Tyree Henry) and Trapper (Dan Stevens) embark on a journey to find out the threat that is lurking around them. They also found where Kong and his people lived in Hollow Earth. Scar King appears and seems to want to rule Hollow Earth and become Kong’s opponent. However, Kong is not alone. Godzilla comes to help him fight Scar King even though he is Kong’s mortal enemy.

“They don’t have to like each other. They just have to work together,” Trapper said.

The trailer closes with a scene where Kong wears armored gloves so he can gain more strength to fight Scar King. Previously, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire also released its first trailer on December 5 2023 Indonesian time. The film’s first trailer introduces Scar King as Kong’s new and main enemy.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is the fifth film in the MonsterVerse franchise and is a sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong. Kong which aired in 2021. This film collaborates with Adam Wingard as director. Meanwhile, the script was written by Terry Rossio, Simon Barrett, and Jeremy Slater. A number of Hollywood actors starred in the film, namely Rebecca Hall as Dr. Ilene Andrews, Brian Tyree Henry as Bernie Hayes, Dan Stevens as Trapper, and Kaylee Hottle as Jia. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is planned to be released in theaters on March 29, 2024.
